but the other night our interweb/tv went out, and our daughter in law cam over and hooked up a dvd player, and we have a collection, but I got to watching bluegrass, acoustic music fests. cds.
It was crazy how many closeups showed Sm57 mics for the live stuff.

just saying.

If I could only have one mic (well, a couple dozen of only one mic), it'd probably be a box of SM57's.

I like the SM57 as a multi-use mic

but since I can't seem to sit still allthat well when Iplay I've moved to a DPA headset with a Line 7 wireless set up.... I can move all I want.... not that it's much more than my head bobbing around

I did have to learn how not to breath heavy or snort during performances... nor utter things under my breath..... live and learn

I've used the 57 live so much now that I'd be lost without one handy. That being said the AKG D770 is better, although discontinued as far as I can tell... Right now I have on my desk a brand new AKG D5 that was gifted by Harmon Karden to me after I shot a video at their tour stop through Ohio earlier this month. I hear it's built to be a 57 killer of sorts :O I guess I gotta plug it in and see what it will do!
