Gimme some time with the words first. I think I can make them better, scan better, suit your style better. Let me have one more weekend with it.

When I mean have the words, I should say have the music part drafted out ti fit the time window. Please feel free to work more on the feeling for the song. What does it feel like, to be healing, what do we want it to mean, what about the scars ect.....

Okay, here's what I got. It's based on Teek's refrain about needing time away, but I added this wrinkle to story: she's come back and is trying to get together again.

I been hurt now I need to mend
And here you are you're coming round again
I know that smile you're asking how I feel
I got a question in my mind
Cuz it takes time to heal

Yeah I been hurt now I need to mend
Here you are saying you're a friend
And asking if I think that we can make it real
Now who's the fool who never learns?
Cuz it takes time to heal

Maybe time away
Will help me clear my head
Wake up to a new day

I been hurt now I need to mend
And here you come as if nothing happened when
You stole my heart oh any thief will steal
But then you threw it all away
And it takes time to heal

Maybe time away
Will help me clear my head
Wake up to a new day

So, instead of doing the refrain after each verse, do it after the second verse and the last verse only. That leaves space for an into, an instrumental verse in the middle and the whole thing comes in under three minutes. You can do it bitter, you can do it regretful, you can do it scared, but as long as you do it hurt, it'll work. Cool

I based the whole thing on the cadence and the delivery and the feel of the first verse you posted. I kept listening to that verse as I put these new verses together. I used Teek's refrain for the direction of the song. I supplied a bit of story with the verses. I think it works like a damn.

Yup, it's a rework, but not as good as the one you and me and Teek wrote based on the original tune. Cool I'll do it myself if I have to (I really like it) but I'd rather you did it cuz you make it sound better.

Man I never saw anyone change the music on a collab as many times as you do. Laughing

I actually like this recent one you did - a shuffle always works. You might have to tweak the delivery on the refrain so that the 'away' and 'day' rhyme is more obvious.

But I'd like to hear what Tez thinks about it. He started it, after all. Very Happy

Oh I sleep with it a lot before I find the sweet spot, lots of tweaking needed indeed before we send it to the studio for demo. Looking forward to hearing more.

I think the "baby" has been delivered , and like most pregnancies the package got bigger , we had our ups & down's , felt the baby kicking , a touch of morning sickness , but she's here now , looks healthy , just needs to be cleaned up . Smoke

CONGRATULATIONS ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

What's NA? Non-affiliated?

How come the total writer shares is about 200%? Why not 100%.

Man, you're into this stuff. I've never felt so pro before. Wink

As for the bass part, I'll do it if I can. I know I have a good part if you do it in D like you did originally. When you settle on which version you like, I'll see what I can come up with.
