Cut and pasted from G/slutz.........

"Hey Guys...

Just wanted to point out a little bit of blatant plagiarism...

If you go to:

http://www.diskfaktory-mastering.com/

and also to:

http://www.diskfaktory-mastering.com/

you will notice what looks like quite a well spec'd mastering suite. It is, unfortunately, the suite doesn't belong to Diskfactory, but rather a very well know and respected australian mastering company "Turtlerock"

You can check out the turtlerock website here:

http://turtlerockmastering.com

Check out Turtlerock's extensive client list, and make the judgement for yourself where you think the original image came from."

Hey Daniel, yes mate, it was Rick who "raised the alarm".........I believe the photographer who "owns" the T/rock image is acting on the issue as well.

At first I just assumed that Diskfaktory must have just been some teenager in a bedroom.

But I've seen that you can order disks from Diskfaktory directly through the musiciansfriend website, apparently they are pretty big.

I've just emailed MF and asked why they are supporting a company that ignores copyright and intellectual property.

Some stupid teenager is one thing, but when you are talking about the size of the orders that must be happening here, it's just not right.

Sadly, uninventive and frankly dishonest activity is rife in the world of online mastering. I personally suggest avoiding heavily "techno graphics" based online mastering sites. It is blatent to me it's a bloke with a pc in a bedroom with a set of multimedia speakers. You have to ask why such a facility would not wish to show their equipment, recent clients and room/monitoring.

That whole site looks like trash to me with an angle based solely on profits.

tut, tut.

That post was from about 3 years ago. The site has changed since then. The guy had copied an image from Australia's, probably best, mastering houses.

But the site now does look a bit cheesy..

Personally if a site relies more on "techno" graphics, rather than recent clients, engineering history, equipment list and photo's of it in situ (not stock manufacturers photo's) it would ring alarm bells to me.
