Hey all,

I'm new to the forum, but not so new to the world of audio production.

I want to find a program for my younger brother who wants to get into making "beats" ala techno, house, trance and etc..

I have been using Pro Tools for several years now to write, record, produce and mix, however, this DAW is way too much for him.

He needs something simple, easy to use. Something that has beats/samples already on it. And something he really doesn't need hardware for.

I thought of Fruity Loops, however, I wanted to get all of your opinions as well.

Thank You,
Kyle D.

P.S. I was looking at this: Image Line FL Studio 7 Fruityloops Edition Virtual Studio

FL Studio is for beginners and seasoned pros. From personal it's not intimidating at all from first glance, and once he picks up a few tricks for using it, he'll see how powerful it can really be!

I say Yay to FL Studio, sir!

Yeah I have used FL Studio for years.....I dont know why people doesn't see FL Studio is really powerful and easy to use. You can make really nice loops and a complex production on it. Download the demo and you will see part of its potential.
In fact thats my prefered DAW. You can make a whole production with just that software. In the demo, explre the browser and you will find nice stuff there.

I encourage you to use it!

Yeah, Fruity's pretty good. Plus, the website has got a ton of very useful tutorials at beginner and more advanced levels.

The deal's this: you buy it and you continue to get a lifetime of free upgrades (they continue to improve it), but they make their money by developing and selling kickass plugins that really add value to the program.
