Anybody know much about TV tuner cards?

Here's what I'd like to do: connect the coaxial cable coming out of the wall to my pc or monitor and view tv on my LCD monitor. Here's the catch: I don't have an available PCI slot (damn soundcards!), so I'd prefer USB/FireWire or just something that I can attach directly to the monitor (via a splitter). is this for a laptop machine? because you can get those wintv cards from go video (very reputable company, been around for ever) for like 30 bucks its PCI so unless you need the USB for a laptop or something i'd go with that instead _________________ arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded

It's for a desktop, but like I said, I don't have an available PCI slot -- the machine only has 2, and I have both my Delta 66 cards installed. WinTV makes a USB tuner, though. I'll check those out. Thanks.

P.S upgrade that sucker! Smile

My Mobo is only 1.5 years old and it's only got 3 PCI slots (and 4 PCI-E slots). Even new uATX form factor MOBO's only have 2-3 PCI slots.
