I have reason adapted and I use it with pro tools. Does anybody know if you can use the Subtractor stuff without having an external midi keyboard hooked up?

in Reason adapted.... no, probably not. Theres no pattern sequencer there, right? Or maybe that depends on what version of Reason Adapted you have.

You might be able to enter notes in ProTools and send them to a Rewire midi channel...?

My Reason adapted doesn't include either Dr. Rex nor Malström, which are the coolest parts. But hey, they gotta make money somehow... Razz

OK, then you need a MIDI keyboard.
