I'm looking for some good upright bass samples. I'm needing good ol' straight-ahead 1-5-1-5-1-5 such as would be played in bluegrass.

Most of the stuff I've found on the net is way "overqualified" for my needs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

*On edit - I found something similar to what I want. But this needs further explanation.

I know diddly squat about MIDI (I have figured out how to play/record Native's B4 but that's about it.)

My question now is, if I have a loop, can I use just individual notes out of that loop?

I have SONAR 3 and 4 PE.

Thanks again.

Pdlstl, drop a PM to Trojka. He has un upright bass, I'm sure he could sample it for you.

You'll need to play the samples through an appropriate player. Set up a MIDI track that routes the signal through the sample player, then go into Pian Roll View and click away on the 1-5 notes. Copy and paste for the duration of the tune. Done deal...

THE VSAMPLER IN SONAR HAS BEEN PRETTY COOL FOR ME EXCEPT FOR ON GIG FILES, I'D RATHER STAY WITH GIGASTUDIO. AS FAR AS BASS, I THINK THE TRILOGY BASS MODULE IS EXCELLENT, EVEN WITH THE ABILITY TO MANIPULATE HOW YOU WANT IT TO SOUND. IT MIGHT BE OVERQUALIFIED FOR YOUR TASTE, BUT PERSONALLY, I'VE NEVER HEARD ANY BASS MODULES THAT SOUNDED SO REAL.

WHY THE YELLING?

Plugsound Free has alright upright samples. Not real enough for bluegrass though. Actually unless you are going for a slappy sound it wont work.
