What effects make that Jane's Addiction/Perry Farrell sound? For an example:

Honestly, I think it's mostly that he has a very unique voice. There is a little delay on his voice, but I don't hear much in the way of other processing.

it;s all delay afaik. I saw him on tv and it looks like he's got the unit on a little stand on stage so he can adjust it all night.

..i didnt listen to your example, but in the days of 'Jane's', he used to manually double some things "very much" off pitch. ......not a technique that can be done by just anybody, .......but it worked for JA.

Bit of delay and verb. Sometimes some doubling, though doubling works better for some people's voices, and mine isn't usually a voice that is made more pleasant by doubling.

EQ and verb. A tad of compression on the way in, but usually none in the mix. But if there's a backing vocal in a busy mix and if the backing vocal needs to really stand out for some reason, I'll use any kind of voodoo in my software toolkit that sounds good. Usually I play it straight, but occasionally I go crazy. Why not?
