Im sure its a toy to you Pros with a commercial buildings worth of hardware, but for a kid like me screwing around in his livingroom, I think its pretty good. anyone else get a chance to hear it yet?

It's a great tool if you know what you're doing. It is both for the professional studios and home studios. Most of the professional studios will give this superb tool a chance. IKMultimedia has really done it this time.

I have the earlier version... only use it once in a while... not because I dislike it, just other plug's I'll reach for first

kinda like playing guitars

Given highly accurate full range monitoring there is no reason why a decent master could not be made with this plug in set. The same goes for any set of plug ins.

What makes a difference is selecting the right settings for any given piece of music through skill and being able to hear what actuallyneeds to be done.

However, you may not get quite the range of possible tones/options (if required) as with some high quality analogue equipment.
