wasn't sure where to post this-

We have a gig coming in a LARGE room (convention center, main ballroom) and they have us on a round (non-rotating) stage in the middle of the cavern....

playing around the outside facing out creates major eye contact and this band is new enough that starts and stops are not a real strong point yet

playing it like a "normal stage" means our backs would be to half the room

We've thought of clustering amps and monitors in the middle facing out with each bandmate (8 0f us) on the outside around the rim, so to speak, so we have eye contact and are looking across the stage

4 mains at 12,3, 6, and 9 o'clock

no matter what somebody gets out back side

any thoughts???

that sounds like a decent approach to me .... there's no way of keeping someone from being buttfirst but that would minimize it.
