For 10 years the only time I was ever asked about volume was when people wanted to make sure the cassettes or cd's were the same volume as their final mix. Even some of our big label clients like RCA, Time-Life, and Disney never cared about volume.

Ironically, the p.i.t.a. clients were the few local bands who would come into our listening environment and realize that their mixes sucked.

well unofrtuanlty its all about volume now. If you want to actually work if the clients want that then thats what you give them. The trick is marrying that up with the illusion of dynamic content.
