Posting/Uploading Video

- To upload your video file, simply attach it to your post via normal means. Please note that there will not be any status indicator as your post (including audio file) is uploading, so be patient! Go make a sandwich or something

- Only WMV, MOV, AVI, and MPEG encoded files can be directly uploaded. Other formats may be considered - please contact us.

- Max upload file size is 50MB.

- NO DIRECT LINKING on other web sites to files uploaded to RP. You may link to your thread from another web page, but not directly to the file itself.

- If you are submitting multiple files for review, please upload them in the same thread. This helps keep the forum less cluttered. Please do not submit more than 3 videos at once per thread.

- Cover songs - if you want to *upload* a cover song, you must abide by the copyright policy posted at the bottom of this thread. Any post containing an attached audio/video file of a cover song must include the following statement:

“I, the poster of this message, which includes an attached file containing a cover song or remix, have obtained the necessary permission and/or licensing to do so. I understand that if requested, I must provide proof of said permission to RecordingProject.com staff within three (3) days. “

Report copyright violations to abuse@recordingproject.com

- Note: after 30 days of no activity in your thread, your attachment(s) may be removed to recover disk space.

Reviewing Submissions

- Constructive criticism only. Critical feedback is important to anyone posting a mix to this forum, so you do not have to be positive. However, insulting the poster, the genre, or the musicianship of the music is NOT ALLOWED.

- Remember to have fun! This is one forum where everyone gets a chance to be an "expert." If you have an opinion, let it be heard!

The Recording Project Video Upload Copyright Policy

Scope

This policy applies to anyone uploading video files to The Recording Project (“RecordingProject.com”).

Video Upload Copyright Policy

RecordingProject.com does not permit copyrighted audio or video samples uploaded without prior written permission from the copyright holder. If you are uploading a remix of another artist's recording, you must obtain prior written permission from both the owner of the original recording and the owner of the underlying musical composition. Tracks determined by RecordingProject.com to be "pirated" recordings will be deleted immediately in the event that management is advised of the infraction.

You may upload cover songs on RecordingProject.com, but only after you obtain all necessary licenses from the publishers of that song. You should be able to identify the publisher(s) of most songs by examining liner notes of recordings containing the song or by searching one or more publicly accessible online databases, such as the U.S. Copyright Office's Copyright Catalog of Music, ASCAP's ACE Database and BMI's Repertoire Search. However, you are not required to obtain an Internet performance license from the performing rights organizations in the United States, such as ASCAP, BMI or SESAC.

While RecordingProject.com reserves the right to require proof that you secured a valid license pertaining to any cover song uploaded to the web site, DO NOT submit license copies unless expressly requested to do so. RecordingProject.com does not accept unsolicited licenses, copies of correspondence or email confirmations from publishers concerning cover song licenses and will refuse, return or discard all such documents. If proof of licensing is requested by RecordingProject.com, then you must provide us with such proof by fax, email, or letter within three (3) days of the request.

RecordingProject.com reserves the right to remove any content that it deems inappropriate or illegal.

Please note, not only are you responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions, licenses and consents prior to posting any content to RecordingProject.com, you may be held liable for any and all costs and expenses (including legal fees) incurred by RecordingProject.com as a result of your unauthorized use of copyrighted materials.

Cover Song Posting Requirements

When posting a cover song to “The Listening Room”, or any other forum at RecordingProject.com, you must abide by this policy, and include the following statement in the text portion of the post:

“I, the poster of this message, which includes an attached file containing a cover song or remix, have obtained the necessary permission and/or licensing to do so. I understand that if requested, I must provide proof of said permission to RecordingProject.com staff within three (3) days. “

Copyright Infringement Notification

If you believe that an audio or video file hosted by RecordingProject.com violates copyright law, then contact abuse@recordingproject.com and we will launch an investigation. Any such investigation will be concluded within five (5) days of receiving such notification. If it is determined that the file is in violation of the law, the RecordingProject.com will immediately remove the content and cooperate fully in any legal efforts against the infringing party. If it is determined that the audio file does not violate copyright law, then papers demonstrating such will be provided.

Policy Violation Consequences

Any member who is found to have knowingly violated copyright law with services provided by RecordingProject.com, may be suspended or banned from RecordingProject.com. In addition, RecordingProject.com will cooperate fully with authorities if legal action is brought against a member.
