Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question.

Does anyone know how to turn on the License Details for a windows media player MP3?

Regards

i could be wrong on this but i think that tab only displays information when you're playing WMV/WMA format encoded with a license key

Thanks kewlbns69, any idea how that works?

I'm wondering if a key is present will that turn on the protection bit.

I'd like to be able to make my Mp3 files appear to be protected.

Notice how the protected value is set to No. I want it to be Yes.

as far as i know that protection encoding only applies to WMV/WMA format. you're working with mp3 format...as far as i know they haven't yet figured a way to encrypt mp3's with protection keys...best i can tell ya is search the net for mp3 encoding software see if any of the gazillions of freeware progs out there do what you're trying to accomplish otherwise use WMA format

Thanks again kewlbns69,

I did search for this and was led to a Microsoft web site that took me deep into digital signature stuff.

Being a lazy bastard I thought it was too complex. I was hoping someone had already figured it out and could give me the skinny so to speak.

Guess Iíll have to do it the hard way.

Regards
